Efforts to revitalize an old Lowe’s Home Improvement building in Sparks continue to garner interest from several potential tenants, with a local theater being the latest entity to sign a letter of intent for the property.
Developer Foothill Partners confirmed on Monday afternoon that it is in the early stages of a deal for a local black box theater — essentially a cozier performance venue for smaller productions — at its Oddie District project in Sparks. Doug Wiele, founding partner and president of Foothill Partners, declined to name the organization as the deal has yet to be finalized.
“It was a total surprise and I’m really delighted by it,” Wiele said. “They’ll take about 5,000 square feet for theater operation in the evening and the space could also be available for corporate events and conferences during the day.”
