Little Loft to Reopen, Rebrand as The Loft Collective

The Little Loft in Takoma Park will reopen and rebrand as The Loft Collective in its original location with a grand reopening planned for Aug. 29, according to an announcement from Main Street Takoma.

The Loft, founded in 2012 by Lia Salza, is a children’s art studio and community space with classes and aftercare programs for children ages 2-12 from Takoma Park and Piney Branch elementary schools. 

The programming focuses on how art can be a catalyst for change and emphasizes local artists and social movements, according to the announcement.

The collective is developing a maker space for middle school students interested in sewing and fiber arts. In addition, it’s planning field trips for 12–15 year olds to visit local artists as well as Washington sites including fine art, street art, museums and public spaces.
