Halifax Community College is hosting a series of community events on the campus Monday.
The college will celebrate its 54th Annual Founders’ Day which recognizes the impact of HCC’s presence and role within the Roanoke Valley, and pays tribute to those responsible for its creation.
The event will also showcase its newest building, the Advanced Manufacturing & Corporate Training Center, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and guided tours.
United States Congressman G. K. Butterfield will kick-off the special day by giving the keynote address at 9 a.m. in the Dr. Ervin V. Griffin Sr. Centre.
Immediately following the Founders’ Day program, HCC students, leaders, friends, partners, elected officials and stakeholders will participate in a ribbon-cutting ceremony to officially open the state-of-the-art facility which will offer a range of curriculum programs.
