HARRINGTON — The Harrington Public Library will be breaking ground at 10 a.m. at its new location at 101 Little Mastens Corner Road on June 14.
The event is rain or shine.
The Harrington Public Library is the only library in the state that has not been remodeled or rebuilt.
The library has made multiple attempts over the last few decades to build a new, better library in the Lake Forest community. Due to aid from ARPA funds and the State of Delaware’s Bond Bill funds the library is a reality.
The new building will feature multiple meeting rooms, a makerspace area, and expanded reading collection for all ages.
“I am excited for the library to come,” said Norman Barlow, city manager of Harrington and Kent County Sheriff. “I am also thankful for this opportunity for our community.”
