Generator leads tenant list for old Lowe’s building

A rendering of the main entrance of The Oddie District project. The development is an adaptive reuse of an old Lowe's building and will house art maker space the Generator, the Innovation Collective, a brewery and distillery, and retail and restaurants.

If you fix it, will they come?

That’s the question surrounding the long-languishing building at 2450 Oddie Boulevard in Sparks, which will be seeing new life as an ambitious $30 million work-live development known as The Oddie District.

Developer Foothill Partners strongly believes that tenants will indeed come to the new space once completed. Designed as a massive facility where creatives such as artists and entrepreneurs can set up shop next to each other, The Oddie District’s size presents a unique opportunity for interaction as well as cross-pollinating ideas, according to its proponents.

“Imagine an artist chatting with an engineer from an R&D company about different creative ways to put things together,” said Doug Wiele, founding partner and president of Foothill Partners. “There will be so many opportunities for accidental discovery.”
