Generator arts and maker space negotiating new location; leaving current space

Generator maker space moves temporarily to Reno Public Market

The Generator, best known for its production of large-scale Burning Man art, is leaving its Sparks warehouse location at 1240 Icehouse Ave.

The space is beginning its move on July 27 and will close all shops by Aug. 1, according to an Instagram post on Wednesday.

The Generator, an arts and maker space in Sparks, asked its development director, Aric Shapiro, to resign in March 2019.

Generator leadership is still negotiating its lease for the new location, which has not been publicly announced. They are hoping for an answer by Aug. 1. 

“The ever-changing landscape of our current reality has made this move even more difficult and we are doing our best to accommodate both the needs of our community and The Generator’s future,” the Generator’s leadership wrote in its post.
