Local artist Zachary Bannister has joined the Agave Artist Gallery and gallery member Kathy Baker is Agave’s featured artist for November, the gallery said.
Bannister is a special education teacher and has been drawing his entire life. He is a self-taught artist and has only recently begun displaying his work.
Bannister’s drawings “are a playful combination of ink on metallic watercolor,” Agave Gallery said. “He blends geometric shapes with his abstract interpretation of daily life, the afterlife and how technology governs the human perspective. Zac believes art is a way to navigate life’s questions.”
Baker is a fiber and ceramic artist and a long-time member of the Potters’ Guild of Las Cruces, along with Cruces Creatives makerspace, the gallery said.
