“The space is designed so that people can express themselves creatively, and to give the public access to equipment and resources that they may not be able to afford on their own,” says Jarvie. “As the public begins to use the space, we intend to grow the equipment and resources available in order to meet community needs.”
The unveiling event will feature new collections and those in attendance can enter to win a prize by suggesting future items to add to the Library of Things.
The Library of Things has a collection of items that patrons can borrow such as a fishing kit, binoculars, projector, karaoke machine, knitting machine, yard games and sports equipment.
Online Services Librarian Jennifer McDevitt says she is excited to be able to offer more activities for people to enjoy and learn with.
