North Arkansas College opens new robotics lab and maker space

HARRISON, Ark. (KY3) – North Arkansas College’s Center for Robotics and Manufacturing Innovation is opening Tuesday to boost the local manufacturing industry for students and industry professionals.

With northern Arkansas boasting a prominent manufacturing industry, Northark has built a facility where students from around the Ozarks can learn everything they need to know and start working locally.

“My generation,” said college president Rick Massengale, “we’ve got the landing gear in sight. We’re ready to retire. The next generation is coming along, and with the emphasis of manufacturing back in the United States, we see ourselves as a primary destination and hub for that opportunity.”

The 30,000-square-foot building features classrooms, robotics labs, and maker spaces designed to inspire innovation.
