The Hastings Public Library has updated equipment in its PIXLab makerspace, bringing two new 3D printers online for patrons’ use.
The Creality K1 printers are filament 3D printers that were released in 2023. They eventually will be replacing a printer that had been in use since 2021.
The first 3D printer was installed when the makerspace first opened in the renovated library back in 2017.
The new printers work similarly to those that have preceded them, but are faster, said Joseph Chapman, library experience supervisor.
