Dodge Elementary fourth-graders Adriana Martinez and Araya Schroeder worked together Tuesday afternoon, determined to build the tallest, sturdiest tower.
Using Popsicle sticks, paper and binder clips, Adriana and Araya carefully determined where to place each item on their tower to get it to a certain height. They strategized along the way.
“We are trying to make it supportive,” Araya said. “We are going to put something around it. Then we are going to build up on the inside and just keep building a tower around it.”
Adriana and Araya were two of seven Dodge fourth-graders who participated in makerspace activities Tuesday, using materials from Grand Island Public Schools’ makerspace trailer.
