NORWALK — In recent years, makerspaces have been populating libraries and schools to give students a collaborative area where they can freely explore, create and tinker.
A new makerspace will be added to All Saints Catholic School in Norwalk, thanks to a grant from Foundations in Education, a nonprofit that supports the mission of Catholic education in the Diocese of Bridgeport.
All Saints was one of 19 Catholic schools in the diocese to receive a grant from Foundations in Education in its first year of offering grants that totaled $105,000. All Saints received $7,500.
“This is a historic moment for Foundations in Education,” said Holly Doherty-Lemoine, the nonprofit’s executive director. “We encouraged our schools to dare to dream and we were inspired by the many creative responses this first year.”
