The Moose Jaw Public Library gave its 2024 budget estimates to Moose Jaw City Council on Wednesday night.
The library has budgeted $1.3 million, which is up from $1.26 million in 2023 or a 2.38 per cent increase. As well, the library is estimating $11,500 in revenue, up by $500 from last year.
The library has a three per cent wage increase for negotiated wage increases. There is also an increase in telephone costs, a small decrease in the equipment reserve contribution that was directed by the city’s finance department and a decrease in office expenses due to efficiencies found in 2023.
In the past year, the library received a grant from the Canadian Space Agency that allowed the library to purchase equipment for its STEM educational program.
