Two Stoke-on-Trent libraries will be modernised after £300,000 of government funding. Stoke-on-Trent City Council has secured the cash from the Libraries Improvement Fund to carry out a raft of projects, including upgrading Stoke and Longton libraries into ‘flexible community spaces’.
The council will also be carrying out improvements to printing facilities at all six of its libraries. Self-release printing will be installed at four sites, while WiFi printing will be introduced at all six.
Lorraine Beardmore, cabinet member for culture, leisure and public health, said: “We are delighted to have secured £300,000 from the Arts Council England Libraries Improvement Fund, which will help enormously in transforming our library services.
