ANN ARBOR, MI — Ann Arbor has a new list of 500 projects totaling nearly $1.2 billion the city hopes to tackle.
That includes non-motorized transportation improvements for pedestrians and cyclists, street construction projects, city building projects such as new affordable housing and fire stations, parks projects such as a revitalization of the West Park bandshell, millions of dollars worth of geothermal and solar energy installations, city airport improvements, a new recycling drop-off station, stormwater projects and more.
The city’s Planning Commission voted this week to approve the new six-year capital improvement plan for fiscal years 2023-24 through 2028-29.
It includes many new projects, modifications to previous plans and some reprioritization, said Kayla Coleman, the city’s capital projects manager.
