PORTAGE — With the Double Track expansion and the potential Willowcreek Road extension on the horizon, Porter County’s largest city is expected to undergo more growth in the coming years. However, what that growth looks like will hinge on who voters choose come Nov. 7.
Three candidates are vying for the mayor’s office in Portage. Incumbent Democrat Sue Lynch is seeking reelection. She first served as mayor for a few weeks in 2019 after former Republican Mayor James Snyder was convicted on bribery and tax obstruction charges.
