After 50 years of renting books and providing research assistance, local libraries are trying to change their image to better showcase the variety of new services they offer.
The Beaver County Library system is celebrating it’s 50th anniversary this year, reflecting on half a century of helping communities in the area.
“We’re excited to celebrate 50 years and looking forward to providing new and different services in the years ahead,” said Jodi Oliver, director for the Beaver County Library System.
The Beaver County Library System was founded in 1971 to provide access to information and rent books to communities in the area. After five decades, the nine main institutions now serve as a home to thousands of books and digital databases for residents to freely enjoy.
