Winona will soon gain a makerspace, a place where community members can access tools for everything from woodworking to fabric arts and podcasting to develop their skills or even start a business. Contractors and volunteers are hard at work and hope to open the makerspace on West Third Street before the end of the year. “There’s a history of innovation and developing things and making things here in town and so a makerspace like the Winona Creators Collective, I think, really fits a need to really support that sort of stuff that goes on in town already,” Winona Creators Collective Board Vice-Chair Carl Ferkinhoff said.
The future makerspace will be opening in the former Technigraph facility near the Habitat for Humanity Restore….
