City of Victorville leaders broke ground on a new library in May 2023.
The city outgrew the Victorville City Library and plans for an updated one almost double the size were made possible by a $9 million grant from the state of California.
City officials say that 5,094 square feet of new library construction will be added to the existing building on Green Tree Boulevard, east of Seventh Street. The current library was built in 1971, and when the library consulting firm Godfrey’s Associates compared it to seven other California cities that also have only one library, the Victorville City Library was the smallest facility at 8,000 square feet.
