HARBOR SPRINGS — On a recent afternoon, students in Tracy Hunt’s third-grade class were busy putting the final touches on the computer games they had designed and created.
The games were made using Bloxels, a grid of brightly colored cubes, and were connected to stories the students had recently written.
“Bloxels are a tool where the kids can manipulate these little tiny blocks and build a background, a character, a setting that then becomes a video game,” said Hunt, who teaches at Shay Elementary School. “They’ve got their story written and published, and shared with their friends, now they’re going to the next step and creating a video game we’re going to be presenting to second grade.”
