Sep. 8—Have you been harboring a desire to get your laser-cutting certification? Paint with abandon under the open Colorado sky? Or perhaps debut your burgeoning musical talent on stage at an open mic? Then look no further than the first-ever Longmont Arts Week, where the creatively curious can do all three (and more) at various workshops and art classes offered throughout the city, kicking off on Saturday and running through Sept. 16.
The city’s ArtWalk street festival will launch the art-filled week with a party on Main Street from 4 to 9 p.m. Saturday. At ArtWalk, guests can peruse the more than 100 booths featuring wares from local artisans, businesses and nonprofits. Food trucks will line the streets while music, theater and dance performances will go live on six different stages throughout the walkable — but mighty — festival that will span five blocks.
