A financial boost for a local non-profit cooperative.
Windsor’s Meta Makers Cooperative has received a $60,000 grant from the federal government under the Community Services Recovery Fund.
Cofounder Nik Steel says Meta Makers launched in 2019 and is the region’s only cooperative makerspace.
He says the grant will be used to purchase equipment for the makerspace.
“A few of the items that are notable, we’re going to have some 3D printers, CNC machine, automated embroidery machine and we’re also going to be upgrading our safety equipment and some tooling for the arts like pottery and glass work,” Steel said.
He says Meta Makers is a makerspace and is a place where people can meet each other with different interests and creative hobbies.
