LAS CRUCES – A health club includes the tools to shape your body. A makerspace includes the tools to hone your craft and sharpen your mind. And now, Las Cruces has a makerspace.
Cruces Creatives hosted a Meet the Makerspace event Saturday at its building, 205 E. Lohman Ave. Inside, residents were able to experience the makerspace and use tools to make art, fix items and repurpose stuff.
The areas inside:
- Textile where sewing, knitting, fashion and textile equipment can be located.
- Audio-Visual provides photography, audio and video recording equipment.
- Multipurpose room where performances, lectures and workshops can be held.
- Electronics carries equipment used for soldering, circuitry 3D printing and laser cutting.
- Woodshop has sanders, power tools, handheld tools and various table machines.
