Pamplin Media Group – Grant money will expand the St. Helens Public Library’s popular Library of Things collection

The $5,000 sustaining grant from Northwest STEM Hub will provide more hands-on learning for youngsters

The city announced that the library has received a $5,000 sustaining grant from Northwest STEM Hub to expand hands-on educational programs at the Library.

According to the city, the award follows the library’s success with a previously awarded $20,000 grant from the organization.

Money from the grant will help the library in several ways, including expanding its Library of Things collection.

“We were really excited to receive that grant,” Gretchen Kolderup, the youth librarian, said, noting the grant money will help purchase more items for the Library of Things, and allow kids to learn more about technology, science,…
