SAN JACINTO, CA — Mt. San Jacinto College is set to celebrate the groundbreaking of a new $39 million STEM building and the debut of its new animatronic makerspace at its San Jacinto campus.
The celebration will take place from 3:30 to 5 p.m. Tuesday.
The Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) building is expected to open in the 2023-2024 academic year. The 56,863-square-foot building will feature three floors. MSJC’s voter-approved Measure AA facilities bond will fund half of the project while the state’s Prop. 51 will fund the other half, according to the college.
MSJC contracted with Redlands-based Garner Holt Education Through Imagination to build the animatronic makerspace that will debut to students and the public on Tuesday.
