KEARNEY, Neb. — The nation has been facing a shortage of workers, and it’s no surprise that we’re seeing that here in Nebraska.
With a large amount of technical job openings, one local business and organization have teamed up to help students discover some of these jobs while still in school.
Students were able to get a hands-on experience to explore technology they would use in STEM-related careers.
Bailey Redwine, a sophomore at Kearney High School is trying to figure out which career path to take.
“I had no clue what I wanted to go into. I was thinking about being a veterinarian but then after I do this kind of stuff at school. I think architecture will be cool,” said a sophomore at Kearney High School Bailey Redwine.
After visiting the Mid-Nebraska Makerspace Lab, she said it opened her eyes to what she’d be able to do as an architect through technology.
