Dear CPS Families, Colleagues, and Supporters,
I know that we are all unsettled by the unspeakable violence and tragic loss of life that is occurring right now in the Middle East. For many in our CPS family, this situation is deeply personal, and we want to make sure our students and staff feel supported, and have a safe space where they can speak freely and process their emotions.
Our District has shared a collection of resources with schools that are designed specifically for situations like this one. It includes tools and exercises educators can use to help students process their emotions, as well as guidance on how to facilitate these very challenging conversations in the classroom.
