New robotics club hold open house events
The Santa Cruz County Office of Education, in partnership with the X Academy, announced the launch of the Santa Cruz COE X Academy Robotics Club.
With chapters in Santa Cruz and Watsonville, the club is available at no cost to all Santa Cruz County high school students. Club members are able to collaboratively design and build an underwater robot, learning skills such as 3D design, coding and laser-cutting. Participants will then be able to form a team to compete in the MATE ROV competition in spring 2024. No experience is necessary.
Open house events are scheduled this weekend in Santa Cruz and Freedom. Attendees will have the chance to meet with the club facilitators and experience live demonstrations of underwater robots.
