Although amounts are still being reviewed, it appears the Woodland Community College Eagles of Excellence Celebration was a money-maker.
The April 28 affair was coordinated by the College’s Fund Committee, which does fund-raising for student scholarships and special projects.
It will be some time before the final totals are in, but initially, it appears as though around $19,000 was generated. According to committee officials, most of the proceeds will go toward the college’s new men’s and women’s soccer programs.
Past fund-raising events have generated money for the college’s agriculture program and individual scholarships, such as those taking criminal justice or law enforcement courses.
Formerly known as Founder’s Day, the name was changed to be more inclusive of graduates, alumni and others throughout the Woodland College community.
