SOMERVILLE, MA — The Somerville West Branch Library renovation and restoration was one of 150 architectural projects selected for the 2022 American Architectural Awards.
The awards, which were presented in December, are for new buildings and urban planning projects in the U.S. and abroad constructed by American architects and by international architects with offices in the U.S.
Now, in their 28th year, the American Architecture Awards are organized by The Chicago Athenaeum Museum of Architecture and Design and The European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies.
According to representatives from the American Architecture Awards, the awards are “the nation’s highest and oldest public awards given by a non-commercial, non-trade affiliated, public arts, culture, and educational institution.”
