Nick Shepherd started inventing early. In fourth grade, the Milwaukee native posed for a newspaper photo with a cardboard mockup he created of a self-contained lawn mower.
But as the young inventor continued to design, the cardboard didn’t cut him. He wanted to start building with plastic, the material of choice for manufacturing, but soon found that he would need to purchase a mold for injection…
