The Maker Space at Peterborough’s Artspace on Aylmer Street is helping artists of all skill levels to get creative
The recently created space at Artpace’s 378 Aylmer St. location was made possible by a $78,800 Ontario Trillium Foundation grant.
Peterborough—Kawartha MPP Dave Smith toured the facility on Friday.
The Maker Space allows local artists to book an appointment to come and use a variety of artistic tools and materials for art documentation, book binding, digital illustration, painting, printmaking, sewing and more.
“I was hired with this grant, to expand what was actually a previously existing media lab, into the more accessible Maker Space that we have now,” said Jillian Ackert, co-ordinator of the Maker Space.
