NEW ALBANY — The Carnegie Center for Art & History in downtown New Albany is now the Floyd County Library Cultural Arts Center.
The library announced the changes in a Tuesday news release, stating that the name change “strengthens the connection to the library, increasing transparency that the museum is a branch of the library.”
The museum, at 201 E. Spring St., features a permanent exhibition on the Underground Railroad, as well as rotating art exhibitions.
The Carnegie Center for Art & History, Inc., a nonprofit independent from the Floyd County Library, will “function without the connection to the Center,” according to a Monday statement sent to the center’s membership.
