The provincial government announced the second round of its Arts, Culture and Sport in Community grant program Monday.
There is funding going out to many important projects, one of which is the Southeast Events Centre.
Steinbach MLA Kelvin Goertzen says the Southeast Event Centre will be receiving $1,000,000 from the province through this program.
“Obviously, there are some cost pressures that have happened in the last number of years, this won’t deal with all of it, hopefully we will see the federal government, as part of their program, step up on some of the cost pressures as well.”
He acknowledges that many people are heavily involved in this project.
“We want to recognize the fact that there are a lot of individuals who are raising money for that and trying to deal with some of the cost pressure, so this is a part of that.”
