Kimberly and Jason Mahlman were in a meeting with their oldest son Tyler as he was receiving information about being deployed to Kuwait as part of the United States Military. That was when they received a text message from their middle child and youngest son Riley saying he was ready to commit to Wisconsin.

Neither parent expected that when they had his uncles bring him to Madison in their place that day, that he would decide to end the process.
