GRAND ISLAND, Neb. (KSNB) – A local library has a new space that allows teens to get their creative juices flowing. The Grand Island Public Library is looking to attract young adults to its teen makerspace. It contains a variety of high-tech machinery including a laser printer, 3D printer, and a Cricut. Officials say having a makerspace in libraries is still a new concept that allows adults the opportunity to have some fun and tap into their creative side. It’s also an affordable tool for young professionals.
“It’s great for entrepreneurs who maybe want to start up a business,” said Erica Rogers, the technology and teen librarian at Grand Island Public Library. “They can come and use some of our products to get started or to advertise as they’re up and coming, and so it’s just a really great resource all the way around for the community.”
