Charles “Charlie” Arthur Auvermann – Dawson County News

Charles “Charlie” Arthur Auvermann, 68, of Dawsonville passed away on Monday, March 29, 2021. 

Charlie was born to the late Dorothy and Art Auvermann in Norfolk, Va., on June 25, 1952.   

Son of a Navy Officer he lived many places during his childhood with his family settling in Dallas, Texas.   

Charlie graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School “TJ” in Dallas.  

He earned his Bachelors’ degree from Lamar University in Texas and his Masters’ from Golden Gate University in California.  

Charlie met and married Bindy Jensen April 25, 1981, in Houston, Texas, they were married for 40 incredible, truly wonderful years and have one amazing son, Kelton Jensen Auvermann.   

Charlie was well known for this love of cars.   

He raced formula fords in the 1970s; raced a go-cart at the Atlanta Motorsports Park and loved restoring cars, especially his ’63 Alfa Romeo.
