Headwaters Academy, a private middle school in Bozeman, Mont., will welcome students later this summer to a new three-acre campus.
Much of the school is surrounded by farmland, which will enable students to interact with local farmers and learn about the land. About half of the three acres will remain green space with plans to add garden boxes and native plants later in the summer.
The property was purchased for about $2 million in spring 2019, reports Bozeman Daily Chronicle
The school serves about 100 students; class sizes are16 students per classroom.
Work on the 8,000-square-foot new teaching building and a remodel of the existing structures began last summer. Construction is expected to be finished by early August.
