PORT JEFFERSON, NY — Port Jefferson School District officials have tapped Robert Neidig to fill the role of assistant superintendent for curriculum and instruction.
Neidig, who previously held the position of Port Jefferson Middle School principal for six years, was appointed at the July 1 board of education meeting.
School district officials described Neidig as a “veteran educator” who joined the school system in 2015 and “swiftly took on his new role” as the middle school principal, “becoming popular with administrators, faculty members, students, and families,” in a news release.
Neidig’s commitment to academics and leadership resulted in a realignment of the middle school’s mathematics curriculum, a coding program, a library makerspace, and a mindfulness program, according to school district officials.
