By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: On July 6, 2023, the Minister of Education, Culture, Science, and Technology, Francis Fonseca, accompanied by the Chief Executive Officer Dian Maheia, toured the construction site of the Itz’at Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math (STEAM) Academy.
The Minister and the CEO were briefed by the Ministry’s Project Execution Unit and the contractors about the progress and projected completion of this innovative school.
“While the construction may still be underway, the Itz’at STEAM Academy is poised to open its doors for its inaugural batch of students in the approaching academic year,” the Ministry affirmed.
The Itz’at STEAM Academy is a pioneering initiative by the Ministry, designed to redefine secondary school education for students in Belize.
