Grants offered to recreational groups in Parksville Qualicum Beach – Parksville Qualicum Beach News

The Oceanside Services Committee has approved several applications to receive funding from the Oceanside Recreation Services Grants Program.

There is a total of $75,000 for the recreation grant funding, which supports the creation and promotion of recreational activities in the District 69 region.

In the spring 2021 application, total of $21,862 was allocated, leaving a balance of $53,138 to be made available for the September grant intake. There were eight youth applications and six community applications that were reviewed by the newly-formed subcommittee for the Oceanside Services Recreation Grants.

The Oceanside Recreation Services Youth Grant applications approved for funding include:

• Kwalikum Secondary School – Outdoor education program $1,000

• Mid-Island Distance Youth Running Club – Track rental, uniforms, PPE Supplies $1,184
