ISLAMABAD:
The Gilgit-Baltistan government broke record in education spending as it has made human development its top priority.
The G-B government has set the benchmark for all other provinces to follow. During the last fiscal year 2021-22, Rs300 million were spent on special initiatives from regular budget.
However, the G-B government has tripled the amount released on educational reforms to Rs922 million from the regular budget during the first six month of current fiscal year.
This is a historic achievement in the public sector of Pakistan. The G-B government initiated several first of its kind projects including Steam, Computer coding and entrepreneurship in 200 schools by private sector experts for 20,000 students.
All higher secondary schools converted into ‘Smart Schools’ with blended learning.
