David Adjaye creates a new civic and cultural hub through three pavilions of different scales and functions all in harmony with the unique tropical ecology of the site

Winter Park, Florida

Integrated into the revitalization of the Martin Luther King, Jr. Park, Winter Park Library & Events Center by David Adjaye of Adjaye Associates is a civic and cultural complex outside Orlando providing spaces for social gathering, intellectual nourishment, and enhanced connection to the natural tropical context.

For its inspired design, Winter Park Library & Events Center has recently been awarded a 2022 American Architecture Award by The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design and The European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies.

Sited on the northwest corner of Martin Luther King, Jr. Park, this new civic and cultural hub embodies the values of the park’s namesake and is envisioned as a space for community empowerment and edification.
