CU Fab Lab provides a space to explore accessible art, technology

Amaan+Mirza%2C+senior+in+Engineering%2C+constructs+a+cardboard+prototype+for+his+INFO+418+class+offered+through+the+University+to+make+hands+on+projects+in+the+CU+Fab+Lab.+The+University+also+offers+various+other+courses+through+the+Fab+Lab.

Hidden on the South Quad is a studio where you can make your creative dreams a reality.

The Champaign-Urbana Community Fab Lab is a makerspace dedicated to students and community members in the area.

A makerspace is a collaborative workspace that uses tools as high-tech as a 3D printer and materials as common as cardstock to create anything that interests the user.

The CU Fab Lab opened in October 2009, after about a year of planning from the original team. It is run by a team of University members, community members and volunteers from the area. Furthermore, the lab also has partnerships with all of the local middle schools, the Urbana…
