Thanks to a $700,000 grant from the Colorado Health Foundation, the long-awaited North Boulder Library will also include outdoor amenities, which were requested by community members but cut from the original budget due to escalating construction cuts.
The Boulder Library Foundation has announced that the funding will add a playground, learning garden, outdoor makerspace and family civic plaza to the new library. The North Boulder Library will be located near Broadway and Violet Avenue. Construction is slated to begin in January and is expected to take about a year to complete.
“The Colorado Health Foundation’s significant support for this project affirms the strong work in lifting up community voices done by the staff of the library and Growing Up Boulder,” Chris Barge, executive director of the Boulder Library Foundation, said in a news release Monday.
