(OSGOOD, Ind.) – The makerspace at Jac-Cen-Del Elementary continues to bring valuable hands-on learning to students.
The 1st Maker Space was designed to encourage student creativity, collaboration, and to think critically through meaningful, maker-driven experiences.
It was installed in 2021 and elementary teacher Megan Wessel leads the dynamic learning environment.
She says the makerspace encourages kids to build, test, revise and problem-solve in real-time.
“Our makerspace has significantly transformed the way students learn by shifting the focus from passive observation to active creation,” Megan shares. “Students are now more engaged in hands-on projects where they can experiment, problem-solve, and iterate on their ideas in real time.”
