CLAREMONT — United States Senator Maggie Hassan visited the Claremont MakerSpace, 46 Main St., on April 12 to head an informational panel on clean and renewable energy investments.
Hassan’s office said MakerSpace was chosen for its use of clean energy in the form of a 178-panel solar array.
Steve Goldsmith, co-founder of MakerSpace, spoke about how the panels have helped with energy efficiency at the facility.
“We were paying around $13,000 for electricity per year,” Goldsmith said. “We are now down to around $4,000.” He added that the building creates more electricity than it uses.
