Around 20 teens gathered at Woodland Public Library’s Square One makerspace earlier this week to meet the new librarian who will be serving them.
Sara Day joined the Woodland Public Library in April, taking on the teen services librarian role — a position left vacant after Rhea Gardner left to pursue a job in Solano County. Gardner had been the first person in a dedicated teen services position, which she started in January 2015.
Day comes to Woodland from the Shasta Public Library system, where she worked as an educational services librarian for about three years. Day explained that much of that position had her interacting with teens and found that part of the job satisfying. She then started looking for a new position that would focus specifically on serving youth.
