GREENFIELD — With another year in the rearview, Mayor Roxann Wedegartner is looking ahead to making progress on numerous ongoing projects and addressing “fairly significant staffing needs” in city departments.
“A priority for me is … the fire station, and ensuring there are no bumps in the road, to the extent I can, in getting that built,” she said.
In November, city officials and others involved in the project broke ground on the station at 41 Main St., which is expected to be completed in a little more than a year at a cost of $21.7 million. After razing the former fire station to make way for the new Greenfield Public Library on Main Street, firefighters moved into a temporary station on Hope Street.
