Craft Alliance, which has made its home on the Delmar Loop in University City since 1969, will move 2 miles east to a renovated building this fall.
The move from 6640 Delmar Boulevard to 5080 Delmar in St. Louis means it will be closer to Third Degree Glass Factory and the MADE St. Louis maker space and the Magic House at MADE. The move will create more of a “maker district” on that stretch of Delmar.
“There’s plenty of opportunity for new collaborations,” said Mark Witzling, executive director of the Craft Alliance Center of Art + Design. “There’s excitement for bringing all sorts of makers and individuals and creative companies to interact.”
The new space, which will be 14,000 square feet, will be on one level inside the building most recently occupied by Gunter Electronics. The existing location on Delmar is 8,000 square feet.
